I realize that this is not an acoustic, but there's a lot more traffic over here & I'm desperate.

In the rush of gluing this neck, I didn't realize that it wasn't properly seated. The tenon should be flush with the top all the way. As a result, the neck angle is too steep.

I used hide glue so the joint is reversible but I'm trying to figure the most effective way to get it apart. With moisture & heat, the joint should come apart pretty easily but I'm not sure on the best approach to getting moisture in.

I found this where they drill holes along the joint then start by injecting boiling water, removing it & and any glue that gets dissolved, then finish with steam.

Since the tenon on my build is not properly seated, there is some space under it which may help with getting moisture in?

Here are some more shots

Any ideas?

Kevin, you should be able to get that joint open easily just using a little hot water (small amounts to start). Or you could use steam around the end of the tenon and down in the pickup hole. Of course, it will swell the fibers.... And then slow down putting it all back. You can do it!
